The context of the project with Pathé Gaumont

The group aimed to implement a common tool that would meet the needs of both the group and the headquarters:

  • Optimize cash management

  • Centralize and simplify bank communication

  • Simplify the third-party payment process

  • Enhance the capabilities for managing liquidity and monitoring risks (foreign exchange, investments, financing, and interest rates)

The project included strong time constraints: anticipating the end of Etebac and implementing SEPA on schedule, as well as migrating the “ecash” and “ebank” tools from headquarters in just one month.

The solution provided by myDiapason

Pathé Gaumont selected the TMS (Treasury Management System) myDiapason to implement the following features:

  • Rapid sharing of cash information between group companies

  • Real-time and forecast cash control

  • Control of banking fees

  • Securing intragroup and external transactions

  • Definition and configuration of validation rules to meet internal procedures

  • Automation of exchanges with banks and the internal information system

  • Generation of reports tailored to individual tasks

  • Traceability of all information

  • Automation of bank cash pooling management

  • Implementation of bank reconciliation for accountants

After the validation of the procedures, the production deployment and training of the 60 subsidiaries took place in less than 15 days.

The group chose to outsource daily maintenance and functional and technical updates. However, the treasury department still plays the role of tool administrator.

Results for the Pathé Gaumont Group

The myDiapason solution has led to numerous successes such as:

  • A simplification of the treasurer’s daily tasks. Leveling operations are sent via EBICS TS (3SKey signature). The procedures for sending third-party and salary payment files (EBICS T) and confirmation letters (summary for the bank and detailed for accounting) adhere to a single procedure for all subsidiaries. The associated forecasts are updated in real-time.

  • A centralized and instantaneous 360-degree view of treasury. Centralized management allows for an overview of:

    • Cash and liquidity management
    • Investment and financing management
    • Entry and tracking of currency and interest rate hedging operations, with immediate monitoring of the impact on liquidity positions
    • Risk monitoring through tailored reporting

The forecasts are reviewed (in case of import) or entered by the subsidiaries. Each subsidiary benefits from the information passed to the bank as well as its current account position concerning the treasury center.

  • Productivity gains. Intragroup interest rates are generated by the head office, then validated by the subsidiaries before accounting.

  • Great flexibility and adaptability. The validation workflows between the subsidiaries and the head office ensure perfect traceability of the procedures. They have been adapted to the client’s constraints rather than the other way around.

  • Successful adoption of the tool. Team training and the task basket significantly simplify the use of the tool by non-treasury personnel.
